This EMD SW1500 locomotive was delivered new to Southern Pacific in April of 1972. It was stenciled as SP 2624. It was part of a large fleet of diesel-electric switcher locomotives and was specifically for switching and light duty tasks around the SP yard.

SP 2624 was on the Union Pacific roster at the time of the merger of Southern Pacific and Union Pacific in February of1997. The locomotive, restenciled as UP 1195 and eventually UPY 1195, was used as a yard goat. It is noted that the Y was added to the initials because UP was running out of 4-digit numbers after the incorporation of fleets from other railroads.

It was sold to GATX Corporation around 2008 and restenciled to GMTX 139. It remained with them until purchased by Independent Locomotive Services sometime around the end of 2012/beginning of 2013. It was restenciled to ILSX 928. It is currently used to switch cars for Minnesota Northern Railroad in the Crookston, Minnesota yard.
